Accounting Manager/Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager or Senior Accountant to join our team in Salt Lake City, Utah. This is a long-term contract position that offers the opportunity to play a key role in overseeing financial operations and ensuring accuracy in accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management and a proven ability to lead month-end close activities while maintaining compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee the month-end closing process to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure financial data is accurately recorded.

Conduct periodic financial statement audits and collaborate with auditors to address any findings.

Review and prepare journal entries to support accurate financial reporting.

Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies to maintain data integrity.

Monitor compliance with accounting policies and standards to ensure regulatory adherence.

Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team to improve efficiency and performance.

Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and financial decision-making. Requirements - Proven experience in accounting management or senior-level accounting roles.

Strong expertise in month-end close processes and general ledger maintenance.

Familiarity with conducting financial statement audits and resolving audit findings.

Proficiency in preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations.

Solid understanding of accounting principles and regulatory requirements.

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.

Strong communication and leadership abilities to manage and guide teams effectively.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is a plus.
