Duties Description Under the direction of the Director of the Individual and Family Support Unit (IFSU), this Advocacy Specialist 3 position will uniquely serve as both the Coordinator of Quality Assurance for the Individual and Family Support Unit as well as performing the essential functions of an IFSU advocate within their assigned region.Quality Assurance duties performed by the Advocacy Specialist 3 will include, but are not limited to the following: - Supervision and training of staff who perform the intake and referral functions (Support Coordinator) for IFSU, as well as other staff as assigned. - Create, implement and maintain all relevant Support Coordinator guidance documents and ensure staff performing functions are trained on current process. - Provide oversight to the quality assurance activities documented by IFSU staff and the support coordinator mailbox including, monitoring performance metrics, and analyzing trends.- Use data, trends, and knowledge of the policies and processes that guide the support coordinator and advocate role to suggest and implement process/policy improvements. - Collect, analyze and prepare routine unit data to monitor performance and inform leadership on continuous quality improvement for strategic decision making. - Work with IFSU leadership to update and maintain an efficient process for housing IFSU guidance documents and for communicating changes in policy and procedures that impact the operations of the Justice Center and the Individual and Family Support Unit.- Assist with the oversight of IFSU's SharePoint development project. Communicate with IFSU leadership and business units to assess priorities and establish enhanced platform for IFSU document management and team collaboration. - Manage the resolution of staff errors through communication with IFSU leadership and the staff performing the tasks. - Modify processes as needed to enhance efficiency of response to family/individual concerns.Essential functions of an IFSU Advocate performed by the Advocacy specialist 3 including but not limited to:- Respond to referrals from victims and families and provide needed assistance and resources - Manage the coordination of victim's services including in-person accompaniments during interviews or court proceedings.- Refer, coordinate, and communicate with JC units as well as state oversight agencies when needed to facilitate responses to cases.- Conduct outreach to parents, crime victim/law enforcement and self-advocacy groups.- Document all services and supports.- Serve as a member of IFSU leadership team to plan and coordinate related internal and external training, presentations and outreach. Preferred Qualifications: Supervisory experience, Experience conducting quality assurance activities and data trending, Advocacy and victim support experiencePlease note - this position may be filled in any of our office locations throughout the state.
Minimum Qualifications Non-competitive: Seven years of experience as a professional advocate or service provider in rehabilitation, developmental disabilities, mental health, child welfare, juvenile justice, or homeless youth. Substitution: An associate degree may substitute for two years of general experience; a bachelor's degree may substitute for four years of general experience; a master's degree may substitute for five years of general experience; or a doctorate may substitute for six years of general experience.
