Job Title: Manufacturing Production Technician Job Description

As a Manufacturing Production Technician, you will be responsible for operating various electric and pneumatic power tools, welding different @types of metals, and working with several machines. The role requires physical activities like crouching, bending, reaching, and walking.

Responsibilities

Operate electric power tools such as circular saws, drills, grinders, and plasma cutters.

Use pneumatic power tools including riveting guns, drills, grinders, sanders, cut-off grinders, punches, air hammers, and rivet clinchers.

Weld aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel.

Operate machinery including press brakes, shears, drill presses, band saws, hydraulic iron workers, radial arm saws, hydraulic hoists, and overhead cranes.

Perform tasks involving physical activities such as standing for 10 hours, lifting 10 to 25 lbs over 2/3 of the day, and lifting 50 lbs approximately 2/3 of the day.

Essential Skills

Proficiency with power tools and pneumatic tools.

Ability to weld and fabricate with various metals.

Basic arithmetic skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

Ability to read a tape measure.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

No required certifications, education, or experience.

A willingness to learn how to use hand tools, power tools, and perform welding/fabrication.

Work Environment

You will work in a manufacturing shop environment, consistently near moving and mechanical parts. The team comprises 120 production employees, typically working in groups of 2-5 people. The dress code includes steel toe/composite boots and jeans, with no shorts, tank tops, or cut-offs allowed. Personal protective equipment such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection will be provided. The work hours are Monday to Friday with two shifts: 1st Shift from 5:00 am - 3:30 pm and 2nd Shift from 3:15 pm - 1:45 am, with optional overtime available on Saturdays or extended hours during the week.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Story City, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.50/hr.
