Position Overview
The Facility / Site Supervisor is a critical leadership role at a Thermal Treatment Facility. This position is responsible for ensuring full compliance with environmental, regulatory, safety, and operational standards while supporting overall facility performance and business continuity.
The role serves as the primary site-level liaison between Regulatory Compliance, HSE, and Operations, ensuring that all local, state, and federal requirements are met while driving continuous improvement across environmental and operational programs.
This position includes supervisory responsibilities and oversight of environmental compliance, facility operations, and explosives safety management.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory & Compliance Leadership
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable environmental and regulatory requirements (EPA, TCEQ, ATF, etc.)
Coordinate licensing and permit submissions with Regulatory Compliance
Maintain organized, audit-ready compliance documentation
Support preparation and submission of regulatory reports within required timelines
Participate in internal and external audits; ensure corrective actions are properly documented and closed
Report compliance incidents through appropriate management systems
Provide guidance to management on regulatory risks and corrective measures
Deliver employee training and awareness programs related to compliance requirements
Environmental Program Oversight
Liaise with local contractors and regulatory agencies regarding environmental programs
Assess environmental risks and implement appropriate control measures
Monitor implementation of environmental aspects of the HSE Management System
Recommend improvements to procedures, work instructions, and environmental controls
Coordinate environmental training for employees and contractors
Ensure environmental documentation is current and accessible on-site
Support investigations of environmental incidents
Promote a strong environmental culture through communication and engagement
Operational & Business Leadership
Supervise site personnel to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations
Ensure adherence to company standards and all regulatory requirements
Implement best practices to maintain a professional and consistent facility image
Apply LEAN methodologies to optimize facility processes and performance
Support overall business continuity and operational efficiency
Onsite Explosives Safety Officer
Ensure explosives are authorized, properly stored, transported, and inventoried
Confirm all explosives users are licensed and properly trained
Conduct bi-annual facility self-assessments
Maintain required documentation per explosives safety standards
Implement all components of the company Explosives Safety Program
Provide emergency and technical assistance as required
Required Experience & Skills
Minimum Experience:
At least 1 year of experience in environmental waste management

Education
High School Diploma required
Regulatory Knowledge
Candidates should have familiarity with:
EPA regulations
TCEQ requirements
ATF explosives regulations
Environmental waste management practices
TSDF (Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facility) operations
Work Environment
Remote, highly regulated industrial site
Approximately 75% office-based (regulatory documentation, reporting, compliance oversight)
Approximately 25% hands-on operational support, including:
Forklift operation
Driving site vehicles
Assisting with field-level activities
Direct supervision of site personnel
