Warehouse Operations Manager manage a team of warehouse area managers and warehouse associates, ensuring that all products is correctly and efficiently stocked and rotated, including managing product availability and receipt, and ensuring the product is available and customer orders are completed each night. Night Shift Managers train Area Managers and new associates on the requirements of the job including but not limited to quality control, product knowledge, product rotation, proper picking, Company policies, and procedures, and using United's computer systems. Successful Night Shift Managers are self-motivated, and communicative and thrive in work environments requiring collaboration, teamwork, interpersonal skills, and managing conflict.
Qualifications
Must be 21 years or older
Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree from an accredited college or university; or High School Diploma or GED plus three (3) or more years related experience in transportation, delivery, or logistics
Prior experience in and an understanding of Warehouse and Logistics operations
Able to learn and maintain knowledge of the company and products
Working knowledge of computerized hand-held devices
Responsibilities:
Responsible for all department managers and supervisors, with review/approval responsibility for all operations employees
Oversees operational systems and processes while looking for opportunities of improvement or revision
Manages day to day business of the operations department
Works closely with management team to ensure all operational, administrative, and compliance functions within the Company are being properly executed in accordance with regulatory-based best practices
Direct management team to achieve prescribed objectives, including timely inbound inventory processed and putaway, customer orders pulled, packed, and shipped on time
Achieve desired hiring and retention staffing levels required to support the forecasted business growth and budget expectations
Ensure that all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are on target for the operation for safety, cost, quality, inventory accuracy, and capacity
Drive continuous improvement to safety, cleanliness, quality, cost, and delivery while growing and expanding capabilities within the warehouse
Ability to develop, implement, and share best practices across the shifts
Lead efforts to establish and maintain a safe, organized, and healthy workplace that supports attracting, developing, and retaining top talent
Facilitate and lead creating and sustaining a clean and healthy work environment to attract, train, and retain talent

Able to stack, unstack and relocate large amounts of product throughout the work period
Able to perform repetitive lifting up to 50-65 lbs, with some overhead lifting required
Must have specific vision abilities that include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to judge distance
Must be 21 years or older
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management, preferably in a distribution or warehouse environment
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards
Proven record of accomplishment in developing and implementing effective safety programs and initiatives
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence associates at all levels of the organization
Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and reporting
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
Responsibilities:
Safety and Security Program Development: Designs, implements, and continuously improves safety and security programs and policies tailored to the unique needs of our distribution and warehouse operations.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct regular safety and security audits and risk assessments of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards. Develops and implements strategies to mitigate risks and improve safety performance.
Training and Education: Develops and delivers comprehensive safety training programs for all associates, including new hire orientation, ongoing safety training, and specialized training as needed. Ensures that all associates are adequately trained in safety procedures and protocols.
Regulatory Compliance: Stays abreast of federal, state, and local safety regulations and ensures that our facilities comply with all applicable laws and standards. Manages regulatory reporting and documentation as required.
Injury Prevention and Management: Works closely with management and associates to develop and promote injury prevention strategies. Investigate and document incidents and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Reviews workers' compensation claims and collaborates with insurance providers to facilitate prompt and effective resolution.
Safety Culture Promotion: Promotes a culture of safety throughout the organization by fostering awareness, accountability, and active participation in safety initiatives. Encourages open communication channels for reporting safety concerns and suggestions.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Collects, analyzes, and reports on safety performance metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement. Uses data-driven insights to make informed decisions and implement targeted interventions.
Vendor and Contractor Management: Collaborates with vendors and contractors to ensure compliance with safety standards and requirements. Conducts safety evaluations of vendors and contractors as needed.
Conduct daily security inspections on the building, grounds, yard, and inbound trailers.
Monitor inbound and outbound trailers entering and exiting the yard.
Works closely with and is in daily contact with the security company and their on-campus guards and supervisors.
Other Duties as Assigned: Performs additional tasks and projects as needed for the business. Including, but not limited to, duties of managing and monitoring fleet movement on company property, analyzing and making recommendations for safety improvements such as lighting, and speed management, and collaborating when needed with the Fleet Manager and Human Resources Manager
