Job Summary and Qualifications
Demonstrates solid knowledge of the computer and associated software programs to include Microsoft Office Suite. Under the supervision of the Department Leader, CMD, CNC, and physicians, the secretary performs the scheduling of new patients, follow ups and simulations; verifies insurance, retrieves documents; coordinates new patient information and provides secretarial and clinical support services for the department. Individual demonstrates solid to expert multi-tasking skills prioritizing independently to enhance and maximize operational flow. Positively reflects concern and consideration when interacting with patients, medical staff, physicians and other hospital personnel supporting the Mission, Vision and Values of Presbyterian St. Luke's and as outlined in Presbyterian St. Luke's Standards of Behavior. Demonstrates independent critical thinking skills to assume accountability for personal contributions.
What qualifications you will need:
High School or GED equivalent preferred.
Medical terminology preferred.
Solid communication skills required.
Three (3) years previous secretarial experience and insurance preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members.
Ability to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.
Strong critical thinking skills.
Ability to communicate with patients using auditory Input and Output.
