Description Safety is #1 at BTD: Our expectation is that every employee: 1) strictly follows safety policies, rules and safe work methods. 2) Promptly corrects or reports safety hazards or unsafe conditions. Promptly reports injuries for prompt diagnosis and treatment. 3) Makes regular suggestions for safety process improvements to support continuous improvement in safety. Essential Functions: 1. Reviews assigned jobs and their due dates. 2. Programs jobs ahead of time and downloads before next set-up. 3. Reviews die designs. Understands how the die is producing the finished part before programming is started. Anticipates and corrects problems. 4. Documents all pertinent information in the CAD then files for easy retrieval to reproduce the part as needed. 5. Works with other employees to complete the job. 6. Communicates with designers and toolmakers to gather information. 7. Solves problems (i.e., trouble with setting up block or creating new program). 8. Understands and analyzes the best way to program and set-up. 9. Creates set-ups necessary. 10. Draws basic parts or related projects as needed. 11. Assumes responsibility for the basic maintenance and diagnostic calibrations of the equipment. 12. Performs all duties in a safe manner, complying with the safety rules and regulations. 13. Maintains a safe and clean work area. 14. Uses Axapta software programs to enter time/payroll information, job information, etc. Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience and Skills Required: At least two years of recent related mechanical and shop experience, of which a minimum of one year of related EDM/CNC experience, which includes the following skills and abilities: 1. Working knowledge of the tooling process and EDM/CNC machinery. 2. Working knowledge of the equipment, materials, methods and practices used in production tooling operations, which leads to efficient decision making whether to use a manual or CNC operation to be most productive to a specific application. 3. Knowledge of related safety requirements to include proper use of safety equipment and proper safety precautions. 4. Ability to understand, follow and issue routine oral and written instructions. 5. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. The qualifications listed above are guidelines. Compensation Salary Range: OTC6 $25.60-35.85 per hour. The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth.
