Job Title: Mechanical EngineerJob Description

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will design mechanical systems and equipment, conduct calculations and simulations, and prepare cost estimates. Your role will involve collaborating with suppliers to find new components for designs, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and investigating mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance issues. You will also analyze customer problems, provide solutions, and elaborate mechanical plans and technical quotes. Additionally, you will prepare and present project reports and offer technical support to internal teams and customers, including Sales, Manufacturing, and Service teams. Occasional travel to customer sites may be required.

Responsibilities

Design mechanical systems and equipment.

Perform calculations, simulations, and cost estimates.

Collaborate with suppliers to find new components for designs.

Ensure compliance with safety standards.

Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems.

Analyze customer problems and recommend solutions.

Elaborate mechanical plans and technical quotes.

Prepare and present project reports.

Provide technical support to internal teams and customers.

Support Sales, Manufacturing, and Service teams.

Travel occasionally to customer sites.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in Solidworks and Solid Edge software.

Experience in mechanical design and 3D design.

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

At least three years of experience in mechanical design.

Strong technical design skills.

3D CAD experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge of Solid Edge software is an asset.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to interact and work with customers at various levels in a production environment.

Work Environment

Join a world leader in the manufacturing of packaging and processing equipment for agriculture, located in a new state-of-the-art facility in Montgomery, AL. The work environment supports a healthy work-life balance with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, encouraging employees to spend time with their families. The position is primarily desk-based (80-90%), with some time spent on the production floor (10%).

This is a Permanent position based out of Montgomery, AL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $73000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
