Job Summary
Manage the development of both Marketing and Communications strategies, including strategic marketing plans. Collaborate with marketing teams to create integrated communications strategies that support marketing campaigns and lead generation objectives. Work closely with executives, product development, and product marketing teams to develop content and communications programs that engage target audiences. Oversee the review and update of marketing collateral to ensure alignment with messaging and brand standards across the university.
Lead the media relations team in crafting press releases, copy for marketing materials, reports, advertisements, and other related content. Collaborate with marketing leadership and field marketing teams to plan and develop messaging that supports the university's strategic goals. Ensure website content is up to date and work with web developers in this capacity. First-level manager. Manage the activities and supervisor and/or individual contributors. Responsible for hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and pay reviews. Broad knowledge of the field with demonstrated leadership skills.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing plan that reaches a diverse range of stakeholders including students, campus partners and off-campus stakeholders
Develop marketing/communication materials from concept to execution including the following channels: social media, printed flyers, website content, newsletters
Develop and communicate department information on various projects to its stakeholders, both internal and external
Responsible for monitoring effectiveness of marketing/communication tactics and adjusting communication plans as necessary
In conjunction with leadership, develop, track, achieve, and report on short- and long-term goals
Routinely engage in review and feedback of marketing materials
Provide basic graphic design support for materials
Support the development and execution of outreach materials for recruitment opportunities (e.g. tabling).
Oversee student intern(s) to support the generation and dissemination of student-centric marketing materials
Develop and ensure a quality check process and review of all communication materials in advance of publication.
Assist in the development and implementation of content on websites. May be expected to have knowledge of HTML , DHTML , and JavaScript programming
Ensure that distributed material is accurate and timely
Closely coordinate with other team members (clients) to ensure cohesive and coordinated marketing efforts
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience. Assumes work equivalency (1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience)
Candidate must demonstrate ability to utilize traditional and electronic publishing technologies to produce communications that implement project objectives.
