Lead Launch Electrical Coordinator -Factory Zero- Detroit, MI
Work Arrangement
Onsite. This role is categorized as onsite. The successful candidate is expected to report to Factory ZERO - Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center on a full-time basis.

The Role
This role is a people leader accountable for driving the plant's Electrical First Time Quality (EFTQ) performance and delivering sustained improvements across electrical manufacturing systems. The position leads, develops, and empowers a team responsible for executing all Electrical Bill of Operations (BoO) elements across both Steady State and Launch, ensuring alignment to plant objectives and enterprise quality metrics. This leader partners across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Launch organizations to proactively identify risk, ensure electrical sufficiency, and deliver strong customer outcomes reflected in warranty performance. The role serves as the plant electrical authority during launch activities, influencing early build decisions and communicating priorities, risks, and execution plans to plant leadership. Additionally, this leader is responsible for learning, translating, and operationalizing GM's evolving Electrical Architecture and Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) strategies within manufacturing, driving disciplined adoption through standards, systems, and people development.
What You'll Do
Set direction and accountability for plant electrical execution by prioritizing work, removing barriers, and ensuring timely resolution of complex electrical and software-related issues.
Convert enterprise electrical and Software Defined Vehicle strategies into clear, executable manufacturing plans that meet plant readiness, quality, and launch objectives.
Lead cross-functional problem solving with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Suppliers to proactively identify risk, drive containment, and deliver sustainable improvements.
Build organizational capability by developing talent, closing skill gaps, and strengthening the leadership pipeline through coaching, feedback, and intentional exposure opportunities.
Ensure consistent use of GM systems and processes to document issues, capture lessons learned, and share best practices across plants and launch teams.
Travel up to 25% to support supplier visits, benchmarking, and collaboration with other GM manufacturing sites to accelerate learning and enterprise alignment.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) **
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field. Or Minimum 3 years of experience working with automotive electrical systems, manufacturing engineering, or plant-based electrical operations.
Demonstrated people leadership experience, including leading technical teams, coaching performance, and holding individuals accountable to results.
Working knowledge of manufacturing quality systems and metrics, such as Electrical First Time Quality (EFTQ), DRR, GCA, or equivalent plant quality indicators.
Proficiency with structured problem-solving and documentation systems, including GSIP, PRTS, SPPS, or similar manufacturing issue-tracking tools.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly translate complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership.
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications) **
Thorough working knowledge of GM Manufacturing System (GMS) and experience supporting BIQ4 deliverables.
Experience with Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) or advanced electrical architectures, including software-hardware integration in manufacturing environments.
Prior launch leadership experience, such as participation in virtual, proto@type, or validation builds.
Demonstrated success leading change, implementing new technologies, or driving standardization across manufacturing operations.
Experience collaborating with suppliers, product engineering, and enterprise teams to resolve complex electrical or software-related issues.
