Job Title: Electrical Assembler

Location: Elmira Heights, NY

Type: Direct Hire

Compensation: $20 - $23 per hour

Contractor Work Model: Onsite

OVERVIEW:

Employee performs highly skilled maintenance, installation, repair and troubleshooting work involved with electrical system. Electrical work may be performed in a number of areas of the car shell/train. Work involves technical application of electrical principles.

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION:

Must have vast knowledge with electrical hand tools, crimpers, and crimping dies.

Installs, repairs and services specialized electrical equipment on the train.

Reads and understands wiring process books and control sheets.

Wire routing, wire harness building, and terminate a wide range of connectors.

May do other trades work incidental to electrical work.

Capable of process improvement.

Collaborate with management any issues that may arise with project.

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager

TRAINING/EDUCATION REQUIRED:

High school diploma or graduation from a certified technical school.

Minimum 6 months experience as an Electrical assembler

INITIAL TRAINING:

Quality system

Occupational Hazards Prevention System

Railway Safety Management System

Human Resources Policies

Environmental Systems

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Two or more years of related experience.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

Shall report all injuries/illnesses to their supervisor that occur at work, the day of the incident

Shall report any unsafe conditions that are identified in their respective work area to their supervisor

Shall comply with all client safety policies, procedures, and requirements that are communicated to them, including Job Safety Analysis (JSA) procedures

Shall wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that is communicated and supplied to them

Shall keep their respective work area clean and orderly at all times

Shall attend all client required training as soon as possible before the start of their assigned work

Shall NOT operate any client equipment (forklifts, cranes, scissor lifts) until certified to do so
