Hiring a Medical Assistant!

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in phlebotomy, with a focus on providing exceptional care to our geriatric patients. The position requires the ability to perform routine medical assistant tasks and other required duties under the guidance of the Medical Practice Manager and DTC Clinical staff.

Responsibilities

Perform all routine medical assistant functions consistently, adhering to policy, best practices, and expected service standards.

Ensure participant privacy and dignity while accurately documenting vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, and weight in the EMR.

Draw blood and collect specimens following Infection Control protocols and MD orders, ensuring accurate specimen identification and processing.

Order laboratory tests as per physician's written orders, track test results, and inform physicians of canceled lab tests.

Schedule Home Draw Labs and obtain applicable reports via software.

Essential Skills

Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience, preferably with a geriatric population.

High School Diploma.

Medical Assistant certification or certified phlebotomist.

Fluency in English and bilingual proficiency in Mandarin, Cantonese, or Fuzhounese preferred.

Superior customer service skills, friendly and outgoing personality.

Strong interpersonal and people skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

Self-directed with the ability to work independently or with supervision.

Pleasant telephone manner and ability to establish good rapport with participants and peers.

Willingness to work weekends if required.

Work Environment

This position is based in an office/clinic environment with locations in Flushing, NY and Brooklyn, NY. The work schedule is from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 1-hour lunch break, totaling 40 hours per week. This is a Contract position based out of Queens, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
