Auria is seeking a Senior Lead Cloud & Infrastructure Systems Engineer to support the Joint Antenna Marketplace (JAM) program. This role is critical in ensuring system reliability, performance, and scalability to support operations of the AWS platform. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in cloud architecture, automation, CI/CD, and security best practices. This is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for leading the AWS cloud and infrastructure engineering effort on a mission-critical DoD system.
The successful candidate will lead engineers, set technical direction and be accountable for delivery, reliability, and security posture, while remaining actively engaged in technical implementation.
The incumbent is responsible for the design implementation, and sustainment of JAM's AWS cloud and infrastructure environment, while serving as the technical team lead for infrastructure engineering.
This role requires a proven ability to lead engineers, make architectural decisions, and coordinate across cybersecurity, networking, DevSecOps, and program leadership. The ideal candidate balances deep technical expertise with ownership, accountability, and leadership in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:
Technical Leadership & Ownership:
Lead and be accountable for the cloud and infrastructure engineering team supporting JAM
Lead infrastructure and DevOps scrum ceremonies and standups
Set technical direction, standards, and best practices for cloud and infrastructure environments
Own execution, delivery, and technical risk for infrastructure related work
Serve as the technical decision authority and escalation point for infrastructure issues
Communicate technical status, risks, and tradeoffs to program leadership and stakeholders
Engineering & Execution:
Design, configure, implement, and maintain enterprise systems including Kubernetes, storage, cloud infrastructure, and virtual machines.
Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using tools such as Terraform, Tofu or CloudFormation.
Lead significant infrastructure projects including adding connectivity, upgrades, deployments, migrations and re-platforming.
Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, backup, and disaster recovery solutions
Support secure system operations in alignment with DoD security requirements
Collaboration & Operations:
Collaborate with Network, Cybersecurity, DevSecOps, and Development teams to support mission and application needs
Participate in on-call rotation and incident response as required
Ensure infrastructure solutions align with program schedules, security posture, and operational needs
Mentor and develop engineers through tasking, guidance, and technical review
Leadership Expectations:
Demonstrated experience leading engineers or technical teams, not just mentoring
Experience prioritizing work, assigning tasks, and holding teams accountable for delivery
Comfortable making architectural and technical decisions under security, schedule, and operational constraints
Ability to balance hands-on engineering with leadership and coordination responsibilities
Experience interfacing with program management, cybersecurity, and external stakeholders
WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:
Mission-driven professional motivated by supporting national security and complex technical systems
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
6+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering or Infrastructure roles
1+ years of Senior Cloud Engineering or Senior Infrastructure roles
Prior experience in technical lead or team lead role
Strong experience in Linux server environments
Proficiency with AWS Cloud platform
Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python)
Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools
Knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)
Familiarity with security standards and practices (patching, firewalls, IAM)
Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Eligibility to obtain a secret clearance or an active security clearance.
WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS:
Experience supporting DoD, mission-critical, or high reliability systems
Familiarity with Zero Trust, RMF, or regulated environments
Experience with Keycloak
Skills with ICD development, requirements management, RF frequency management, and IMS awareness
Hands-on experience with CI/CD and DevSecOps toolchains
Relevant certifications (e.g., CKA, Security+, AWS SysOps, RHCSA)
PAY TRANSPARENCY: The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level. $130,000 - $170,000
