Reputable, services firm located in the Northern Delaware area is looking to hire a Staff Accountant with proven knowledge of financial forecasting and modeling. The responsibilities for this Staff Accountant role consist of handling general accounting operations such as assisting with accounts payable/receivable activities, reviewing general ledger accounts, preparing financial reports, assisting with financial research, maintaining internal controls, overseeing the inventory catalog, providing customer service as needed and collaborating with financial and executive leadership. The ideal candidate for this role should have possessed great day-to-day accounting abilities in compliance with legal industry standards and firm policies. We are looking for someone with strong problem-solving skills and can maintain accurate financial records and contribute to the overall financial health of the firm.

Everyday Responsibilities

· Prepare journal entries, general ledger reconciliations and account analysis

· Assist with daily accounting functions

· Reconcile and monitor collection accounts

· Ensure compliance with applicable standards (GAAP)

· Reconcile bank statements and financial accounts

· Monitor the record keeping system

· Prepare daily credit card transactions

· Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation needed

Requirements

The ideal Staff Accountant will preferably have an Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.

Other requirements for the Staff Accountant role include and are not limited to:

· 3-5 years of experience

· Experience in Utility is a plus

· MUST have expert level Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP)

· Peoplesoft experience preferred

· Solid understanding of GAAP and basic accounting principles

· Excellent communication skills
