Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Administrator to join our team on a contract basis in San Mateo, California. This role requires proficiency in medical terminology and administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations in a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to manage patient records, appointments, and insurance verification processes.

Responsibilities:

Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility to ensure smooth billing processes.

Schedule patient appointments efficiently and maintain accurate records in electronic medical systems.

Manage patient billing and payment documentation with attention to detail.

Utilize electronic medical records, such as EpiCare Inpatient, to update and maintain patient data.

Ensure patients are checked in and out seamlessly during appointments.

Handle patient scheduling and communicate appointment details effectively.

Provide support in maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.

Collaborate with healthcare professionals to streamline administrative workflows.

Assist in maintaining accurate patient records by applying knowledge of medical terminology.

Address inquiries from patients and staff regarding scheduling and administrative procedures.

Requirements - Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical administrative role.

Proficiency in basic medical terminology and its application in administrative tasks.

Knowledge of medical insurance verification processes and procedures.

Experience working with electronic medical records systems, such as EpiCare Inpatient.

Strong organizational and communication skills to manage patient scheduling and billing.

Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.

Familiarity with patient eligibility and appointment scheduling processes.
