Job Description
Provide strategic leadership, direction, and supervision to the Aviation Maintenance and UAS programs at Northland Community and Technical College (NCTC), Aerospace location. Supervises and implements grant activities and special projects. This position seeks out private and public interest and investments in assigned programs for evolving academic programs and participates in the negotiation of memorandums of agreements, contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and teaming agreements with regard to proprietary/confidential information related to public-private partnerships.
Funding: primary funding for this position is from grants, contracts, and donations.
Develop and oversee Aviation Maintenance and UAS curriculum, curriculum innovation and schedule efficiencies in collaboration with academic deans.
Provide effective leadership for the Aerospace Site.
Collaborates with custom training services to fulfill CE/WDS education needs; secures contracts from business and industry, State and Federal agencies, specifically the National Science Foundation and national professional agencies.
Mentor, assist, evaluate, and effectively work with faculty and staff to develop the maximum possible creativity and performance in their positions.
Assist, encourage, develop, and recognize prospective students, students, and alumni for Northland Community and Technical College.
Administers activities within assigned areas.

Salary Range:
74,970.00 - 120,173.00 USD Annual
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from a regionally (institutionally) accredited college or university; AND at least three years (6 semesters) of experience in educational leadership positions with progressive levels of responsibility as faculty or administrator; AND at least three years (6 semesters) of teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
Credential in a career & technical field.
Demonstrated experience in project management.
Demonstrated success in building partnerships with industry.
Preferred Qualification
Aviation or UAS teaching credential
Experience with employee training and development or workforce training programming.
Experience with grants related to economic development, program development, or workforce training.
Experience working in a union environment.
Previous experience working in a technical, community and/or comprehensive community & technical college.
Master's Degree in aerospace, aviation, technology, higher education, or related field from a regionally accredited college/university.
Professional Licensure/Certification: FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate, UAS Certificate, or related technical certification
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of a regional approach to building and delivering higher education (credit, non-credit, and contract-credit)
Knowledge of effective classroom instruction, learning, and curriculum methodologies including online
Knowledge of assessment of varied systems that promote learning and exceptional customer service
Knowledge of diverse student populations and the related issues, needs, and opportunities
Knowledge of accreditation processes, including assessment
Skills in professional and technical areas including an understanding of and experience in the teaching and learning process, curriculum development, interviewing, leadership, and administration.
Skills in written, oral, and non-verbal communication
Skills for problem solving to manage diverse and complex situations
Ability to establish and maintain productive, collegial, and professional working relationships with both internal and external constituents of the college
Ability to effectively supervise, evaluate, motivate, and develop professional employees
Ability to develop, implement, and monitor long and short-term plans
Ability to manage change and transformation
Ability to coordinate the various priorities of a college with administrative services, academic affairs, student services, and foundation personnel
Ability to effectively analyze and administer budgets.
