Austin Industrial is currently seeking a Boilermaker to join our staff located at Lovington, NM. They must be able to construct, assembles, maintain, and repair stationary steam boilers and boiler house auxiliaries. This role includes assembling boiler frames, tanks, and vats; using various hand and power tools; cleaning and inspecting boilers; and ensuring proper fit and function of all components as outlined in blueprints and job specifications.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Examine boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, or vats to identify defects such as leaks, weak spots, or defective sections.
Bolt or arc-weld pressure vessel structures and components using wrenches or welding equipment.
Inspect assembled vessels, tubes, fittings, valves, controls, and auxiliary mechanisms for defects.
Repair or replace defective parts such as safety valves, regulators, and fittings using torches, jacks, hammers, saws, dies, welding tools, and metalworking machinery.
Attach rigging and signal crane/hoist operators to safely lift and position heavy components.
Bell, bead, or weld pressure vessel tube ends to ensure leakproof joints.
Lay out plate or sheet steel, marking bending and cutting lines using precision measuring tools.
Install manholes, handholes, taps, tubes, valves, gauges, and feedwater connections in boiler drums.
Study blueprints to determine locations, dimensions, and relationships of parts.
Straighten or reshape bent plates or structural parts using jacks, torches, or hammers.
Shape seams, joints, and edges to achieve specified fit using torches, files, or metalworking machines.
Position, align, and secure structural parts to boiler frames, tanks, or vats according to blueprints.
Mark reference points for columns or plates on boiler foundations using straightedges and measuring tools.
Fabricate parts such as stacks, uptakes, or chutes using heavy-metalworking machines.
Clean pressure vessel equipment using brushes, scrapers, and cleaning solvents.
Install refractory bricks or heat-resistant materials inside fireboxes.
Assemble large vessels in an onsite fabrication shop prior to installation.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of Boilermaker experience in a refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environment.
Strong experience with pressure vessels, boilers, heat exchangers, reactors, tanks, and similar refinery equipment.
Proficient in stick, MIG, TIG, and flux-core welding, including cutting, burning, and structural fabrication.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and isometric drawings.
Experience with shutdown/turnaround work, vessel entry, tray repairs, and bundle extraction.
Strong understanding of refinery safety protocols, including LOTO, hot work, hazard communication, gas testing, and PPE.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver's License
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to meet all physical demands listed above.
