Job Title: Industrial Electrician
Location: Lake Wales FL
Pay: $33 - 40 an hour
Shift: 5am - 5pm or 5pm - 5am
Job Description
As an Industrial Electrician, you will install, configure, and commission a diverse array of electrical and instrumentation devices. Your role will involve troubleshooting PLC hardware and automated processes, as well as setting up plant instruments like pressure devices, flow measurement systems, and level monitoring equipment. You will also interpret technical documentation and configure automation platforms to ensure operational control.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, and commission electrical and instrumentation devices, including controllers, sensors, switches, transmitters, and VFDs.
Set up and troubleshoot PLC hardware and automated processes.
Install and adjust plant instruments such as pressure devices, flow measurement systems, and level monitoring equipment.
Interpret and work from technical documentation, including electrical schematics, control drawings, and wiring diagrams.
Configure automation platforms such as PLCs, DCS networks, and SCADA interfaces for operational control.
Perform preventative maintenance on electrical and instrumentation infrastructure to minimize equipment failures.
Diagnose and repair issues related to motors, drives, control circuits, and other electrical components.
Fine-tune, recalibrate, or replace faulty instruments to restore proper functionality.
Test and verify equipment accuracy through calibration procedures and performance validation.
Utilize specialized diagnostic and calibration tools to evaluate and optimize system operation.
Maintain organized logs, calibration records, and documented reports for all completed work.
Follow all applicable electrical and safety regulations, including NEC requirements and OSHA safety practices.
Participate in hazard assessments and support safe operation of all E&I systems.
Identify risks or unsafe conditions and implement corrective or preventative safety measures.
Keep detailed maintenance and repair documentation up to date.
Assist in drafting and revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment and systems.
Work closely with engineering and operations teams to enhance equipment performance and system reliability.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in electrical and PLC troubleshooting.
Experience in industrial electrical maintenance.
Skills in VFD maintenance and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with HMI's and photoeye sensors.
Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs is preferred.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Effective communication abilities and a collaborative mindset.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Completion of a technical program, associate degree, or industry-recognized certification in instrumentation, electrical systems, or a closely related field.
At least two years of relevant technical training or on-the-job experience.
Practical experience with automation platforms such as PLCs, SCADA interfaces, and DCS environments.
Familiarity with established electrical and instrumentation codes and guidelines, including NEC and ISA standards.
Skilled in using diagnostic and calibration instruments, such as loop calibrators, oscilloscopes, and digital multimeters.
High attention to detail and strong commitment to accuracy in all work performed.
Willingness to work beyond 48 hours per week when operational needs require it.
Ability to supply certain personal tools as part of the job requirements.
Capable of handling physical demands, including lifting 50 pounds occasionally and between 15-35 pounds on a regular basis.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00/hr.
