Job Summary
PSEG Long Island is looking for two Interns for the Legal Department
This job involves working to assist attorneys and paralegals in Legal matters.
This position will be Hybrid Flexible. The Office is located in Melville, NY
Job Responsibilities
Assignments will include working alongside professionals in the following areas:
Performing legal research on PSC policies and orders and REV related issues
Gathering and analyzing statutes, decisions, and legal articles, codes, documents and other data
Preparing and tracking real estate closing checklists and transactional documentation from letter of intent through completion of closing binders.
Preparing pleadings and other litigation documents.
Reviewing and summarizing articles, etc. on commercial law and energy law topics of interest and source publications
Reviewing Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreements under negotiation and discussing proposed revisions and strategies regarding same.
Job Specific Qualifications
Required Education & Skills:
The successful candidate (s) must be actively pursuing a law degree from an accredited law school. Candidate must have completed their first year of law school by the start of the internship program to be considered. PSEG Long Island recognizes institutions of higher education, which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Because this position requires driving to various PSEG Long Island Locations, a valid US driver's license and clean driving history. Other required
education/skills required include proficient in the use of Westlaw. Ability to complete legal research and writing assignments within established deadlines and with minimal or moderate guidance and ability to research and articulate the law on a wide variety of legal subjects, with the understanding that this research may be used by practicing attorneys in their representation of the company.

All PSEG Long Island internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no medical benefits associated with these positions. Candidates are expected to work 40 hours per week over the duration of the summer internship. We are targeting currently enrolled/matriculating students that are able to commute to their designated work location as needed. Housing, transportation, and immigration support will not be provided in association with these positions.
