Our company is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for a contract position based fully onsite in New Brunswick, NJ. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee daily accounting operations, support month-end and year-end close processes, and ensure adherence to accounting principles and controls. This role is fully onsite and is a consulting opportunity, expected to be about 6 months.

Responsibilities:

Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting

Manage and mentor accounting staff; coordinate workflow and support professional development

Drive month- and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies

Collaborate with other departments for budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

Maintain internal accounting controls, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company standards

Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports for management

Support external audit and tax filing activities

Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency

Manage payroll processing and related functions as needed

Ensure accurate and timely transaction processing within accounting systems

Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role

Strong knowledge of GAAP and corporate accounting practices

Proven experience with accounting controls and payroll management

High proficiency in accounting software such as Microsoft D365, Oracle NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, or Workday

Advanced Excel skills; knowledge of PowerBI or SQL is a plus

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work onsite daily in New Brunswick, NJ
