Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Warren, New Jersey. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity to grow your accounting expertise in a dynamic and detail-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in corporate tax, sales tax, and general ledger management.

Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

Prepare and file corporate tax returns in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Ensure accurate calculation and reporting of sales tax for various transactions.

Record, review, and adjust journal entries to maintain the accuracy of financial data.

Manage the general ledger, ensuring all accounts are reconciled and up to date.

Collaborate with internal departments to gather financial information and resolve discrepancies.

Assist in month-end and year-end financial closing processes.

Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with accounting standards and policies.

Provide support during tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.

Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.

Requirements - Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and compliance.

Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and reporting.

Proficiency in managing journal entries and general ledger accounts.

Familiarity with accounting software and tools.

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Strong communication skills for collaborating with teams and external auditors.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
