What's a typical day as an Accounting Specialist? You'll be:
Performing clerical, bookkeeping, and accounting duties
Assisting with vouchering invoices, opening mail, and scanning invoices into the College's Perceptive scanning system
Maintaining accounting records for projects and programs
Maintaining student financial records and preparing reports to reconcile for accuracy
Interpreting computer reports and preparing journal entries
Assisting in the interpretation of federal regulations and applying them to the collection of student accounts
Acting as a liaison representative with collectors, internal personnel, and external agencies
Handling college account payables (e.g. vendor invoices, check requests, purchase orders, etc.)
Handling college account receivables (e.g. third-party billing, escrows, student refunds, Tuition Incentive Program (TIP), etc.), banking issues, collections, grants, and various other projects
Operating office equipment and maintaining, cleaning, and arranging for service of equipment when necessary
Training and directing college student personnel with appropriate approval
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
Have an earned Associate Degree or higher in Accounting, or Business Administration (with a concentration in Accounting) OR have any Associate Degree or higher with successful completion of 16 college credit hours in Accounting
Are proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Have keyboard proficiency of 35 wpm
Have two (2) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
