Role Overview:
The Facility Technical Support Supervisor is responsible for leading field-based technical operations, ensuring reliable network infrastructure, hardware functionality, and secure system performance across multiple locations. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership, operational planning, and vendor coordination to maintain high system availability and compliance with organizational standards.
Salary Statement:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $61,022.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
A Day in the Life:
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
Team Leadership & Supervision
Supervise, schedule, and mentor field technical support staff.
Assign daily tasks and oversee performance to ensure timely issue resolution.
Provide ongoing technical training and professional development.
Establish service standards and ensure adherence to operational procedures.
Network & Infrastructure Management
Plan, install, configure, maintain, and repair LAN/WAN infrastructure.
Support routers, switches, servers, workstations, structured cabling, and peripherals.
Oversee system upgrades, patching, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
Ensure network reliability, redundancy, and performance optimization.
Field Support & Technical Troubleshooting
Diagnose and resolve complex network, software, surveillance camera, and hardware issues.
Provide on-site support across multiple facilities to ensure operational continuity.
Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative measures.
Maintain accurate service documentation and incident records.
Security & Compliance
Implement and monitor network security controls, user access permissions, and system hardening.
Manage data backup and recovery processes.
Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in risk assessments and remediation planning.
Inventory & Vendor Management
Manage IT asset lifecycle, including procurement, tracking, and disposal.
Maintain accurate inventory records of hardware and software assets.
Coordinate with vendors for equipment purchasing, warranty claims, and third-party support services.
Evaluate vendor performance and recommend improvements where necessary.
Strategic Planning & Reporting
Develop infrastructure upgrade plans and capacity forecasts.
Recommend technology improvements aligned with organizational goals.
Prepare technical reports, performance metrics, and operational updates for leadership.
Contribute to budgeting and resource planning initiatives.
Technical Expertise
Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN architecture, TCP/IP networking, and structured cabling standards.
Proficiency in Windows-based environments and endpoint management.
Experience with routers, switches, firewalls, servers, and surveillance systems.
Understanding of cybersecurity principles and backup strategies.

Ability to work independently in field environments while maintaining coordination with centralized IT leadership.

This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours which may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.
What You'll Need for Success:
You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical support, networking, or field services.
Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
Valid driver's license with the ability to travel between facilities as required.
Ability to lift and install hardware equipment when necessary.
Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
