Summary The Administrative Officer (AO) for Geriatrics and Extended Care (GEC) serves 8 Community Living Centers as the coordinator, advisor, analyst and planner. The AO will assist the Chief by fulfilling administrative duties to allow the Chief to devote time to the GEC initiatives. The AO will provide administrative leadership to the staff and supervise GEC clerical and administrative functions. Responsibilities The core duties of this position include but are not limited to: Maintaining the Service Equipment Priority List, coordinating urgent equipment needs, and conducting equipment inventories. Preparing and coordinating recurring and periodic reports for the Service. Monitoring performance measures specific to the service and reporting the information to service chiefs and program managers. Ensuring timely preparation and submission of all required documentation, reports, and performance evaluations. Overseeing the day-to-day activities of the administrative support staff and ensuring that staff are meeting workload requirements. Ensuring data and document confidentiality and compliance with Privacy Act and training requirements. Effectively working with various departments and services within TVHS to achieve cohesive operational outcomes. Ensuring compliance with health care regulations, Joint Commission standards, and other external regulatory requirements. Aligning the roles and activities of the Service with the mission and functions of TVHS and the Veterans Health Administration. Understanding and implementing the policies, procedures, and regulations relevant to the GEC service. Conducting thorough evaluations of service planning activities and implementing effective management systems. Performing detailed quality assessments and ensuring accurate provider-specific quality data reporting.
