Role Summary
The Agency Sales Manager is a subject matter expert for business agency and corporate travel management companies (TMC's) at Alaska Airlines (AS) and Hawaiian Airlines (HA), account managing a defined portfolio of agency and TMC accounts to deliver against revenue and market share goals. As an individual contributor, this role exercises considerable judgment to negotiate and make decisions to drive incremental revenue, leveraging strong commercial acumen and all aspects of our agency and corporate customer partnerships to be successful.
Key Duties
Act as a subject-matter expert for the business agency and Travel Management Company (TMC) sales channel for Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines.
Build productive relationships with defined agency and TMC accounts, managing a portfolio of agencies focused on business travel growth opportunities for Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines.
With minimal direction from leadership, exercise considerable judgement to manage the pricing, cost analysis and negotiations of agreements, including New Distribution Capability (NDC) terms, with the aim of obtaining the highest market share and yield possible while ensuring goal compliance and profitability.
Strategize business growth and lead development of other agency accounts and new technologies through collaboration with revenue management team to ensure special fares are filed accordingly and drive expected revenue per the terms of the agreement.
Monitor reporting and metrics on revenue, commissions, and contract performance to identify trends and to develop a strategy to ensure the company is positioned appropriately in market.
Develop marketing-related promotions to help drive sales efforts, coordinating closely with sales support, marketing and loyalty teams.
Serve as the liaison with international point-of-sale teams to help make introductions and ensure Alaska and Hawaiian agency programs span the globe.
Partner with legal and risk management teams to construct contract-binding agreements.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
4 years of experience in outside sales, with a concentration in the retail service environment, or related area.
Bachelor's degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
Must reside within one hour of an airport served by Alaska Airlines and maintain a home address in a U.S. state where Alaska Airlines operates.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Ability to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally, and willingness to work occasional night and weekend hours.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum age of 18.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
Prior airline sales and account management experience.
Prior exposure to and use of travel industry data reporting sources such as Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) and Sabre's PRISM product.
Demonstrated strong negotiation skills.
Proficiency with customer relationship management (CRM) tool Salesforce.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to drive outcomes in the best interest of the company.
Ability to establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships with other teams and workgroups.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to cope with conflicts caused by competing priorities.

$88,350- $159,100 / year

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon employees. Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don't typically hire at the top of the range.
