The Director of Market Institutes coordinates appropriate resources for all daily operations, human resource management, fiscal management, and supporting initiatives aligned with the organizational mission, vision, values and goals in the ambulatory clinics while collaborating with facility and market leadership for acute care operations. The Director collaborates with organizational leaders and manages interdependencies across institutes, facilities, submarkets and the medical group and takes ownership and accountability to implement market strategic growth, operational precision, service enhancements, program development, financial, and community engagement initiatives. The Director leads and ensures the market specific operational infrastructure of the institute will enable execution of key initiatives to meet targeted goals and outcomes. They demonstrate effective operational, analytical, communication and organizational skills; including but not limited to: operational assessments, market analyses, business forecasts and success matrices linked to market and enterprise based goals.
What You'll Do
Essential Functions
Mission, Vision, and Values: Creates a shared vision with team members of the department's role in helping achieve mission and vision; acts consistently with Novant Health's values, directs and supports team members in a manner that enables and provides the means to perform their jobs safely and efficiently.
Leadership: Oversees day to day operations of the institute. Demonstrates leadership skills including problem solving, delegation and time management/organization. Creates an environment for change/transition that empowers team members. Produces action plans to improve performance aligned with market plans and strategies. Develops and implements a self-development plan.
Financial Management: Prepares and recommends annual operations and capital budgets to NHMG leadership for ambulatory clinics and market and sub-market presidents for acute care services. Monitors and analyzes operations to ensure financial targets are achieved. Shares information with team members to create an environment in which they can engage to develop plans to reduce expense and achieve operational efficiencies. Communicates operational performance data to ensure an understanding of business factors impacting the department. Provides input and collaboration for strategic planning for the system/market/facility and community.
Interpersonal Effectiveness and Communication: Creates an environment that supports and respects diversity where all team members feel safe, included, and free to contribute to the success of Novant Health. Actively communicates with and involves others through regular dialogue. Provides progress updates in a timely manner. Adopts new knowledge appropriate to work. Coordinates the development of goals, objectives, and action plans to achieve strategic and operational priorities.
Human Resources and Organizational Development: Provides annual feedback to others regarding performance and assists with development of personal improvement plans. Coaches team members to achieve success in their role and career plans. Provides for education and training of others. Ensures teamwork between all members of the team, including physicians, and facilitates a culture that promotes positive outcomes. Follows the process for open job posting and allows equal access to opportunities for growth and development. Monitors, evaluates, and coordinates workload trends and manages resources to meet unit needs. Coordinates planning for human resource needs based on productivity and workload. Analyzes causes of employee turnover and involves team members to develop plans to address opportunities that will ensure achievement of the people credo.
What We're Looking For
Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Business, Healthcare or related field; required. Graduate Degree, preferred.
Experience: Five years of progressive supervisory/management experience, required. Two years of progressive supervisory/management experience in a healthcare setting, required.
