The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution at Huntingdon is seeking someone highly motivated with experience in manufacturing, production, and the processing of products who also enjoys teaching to join our team. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections General Industries Factory Foreperson for the Department of Corrections, you will perform and oversee advanced manufacturing work in the production or processing of products or services. Work involves instructing, training, and supervising inmates in the practices, methods, and procedures of the industry. You will provide demonstrations, explanations, and close supervision during training and work assignments. This includes responsibility for planning, assigning, reviewing and evaluating the work of assigned inmates.

Our team will rely on you to maintain training progress reports, wage reports, and attendance records for assigned inmates and to maintain established standards of quality and quantity during production. This is accomplished through the inspection of equipment, raw materials, work-in-progress and finished goods. You will also be responsible for the maintenance and repair of factory equipment. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,868.00 (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years of experience in the production of goods or services; or An associate degree in industrial technology, operations management, business administration, or a related field; and one year of work experience in the production of goods or services; or An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes one year of work experience in the production of goods or services..

Other Requirements: Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. You must meet the PA residency requirement. For more information on ways to meet PA residency requirements, follow the link and click on Residency. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
