Electrical Helper - Entry-Level (Field-Based)
Overview
We are seeking a
motivated Electrical Helper to support the installation, maintenance, and
upgrade of telecom and electrical systems. This role is ideal for someone
mechanically inclined who wants hands-on experience, on-the-job training, and
long-term advancement in a rapidly growing industry.
Key Requirements
1+ year of experience working with AC/DC power systems
Experience with:
Low voltage work
Conduit installation
Basic circuitry and continuity testing
Strong reliability, willingness to learn, and a solid work ethic
Comfortable working outdoors and on active job sites
You will work directly with a Journeyman Electrician,
acting as their primary field support and receiving ongoing mentorship.
Technical Skills
Electrical & Power Systems
Experience with HVAC, generators, EV charging stations, and battery banks
HVAC installation support
Generator wire pulling
Telecom-style battery bank installation
EV charger installation assistance
Romex wiring; 16-gauge wiring; 18-4 and 18-6 conductors
Pulling and installing low-voltage wiring
Elevator wire pulling (18 AWG)
Experience with EMT and rigid conduit
Conduit bending (45°, 90°, 180°), pipe bender usage
J-hooks, flex wire spool refilling
Ability to read blueprints
Familiarity with DC electrical junction box panels and bringing AC power to external equipment
Experience pulling 500 MCM cable (installation experience a plus)
Fiber & Telecom
Pulled fiber, coax, and copper cabling for commercial/medical facilities
Basic testing and troubleshooting of fiber and low-voltage lines
Experience with low-voltage power: 120V, 240V, and DC systems
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
Cat5 cabling
Installation/general labor experience
Power tool operation
Electrical or general construction
Concrete work or site prep experience
Position Responsibilities
Assist with the installation and maintenance of telecom and electrical equipment
Support new construction, equipment replacements, power upgrades, and site maintenance
Work in the field and warehouse depending on project needs
Collaborate with electrical, telecom, civil, and small-cell teams
Receive on-the-job training to grow into more advanced roles
Schedule & Travel
Monday-Friday, typically 7 AM-4 PM (may vary by project)
Occasional overtime and occasional Saturdays
Most days begin at the warehouse before traveling with the crew
Regional travel required at times, including occasional multi-day trips

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Parkville, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
