Firestopping Inspector, Experienced

Braun Intertec is seeking a Firestopping Inspector, Experienced to join our White Bear Lake, MN location. The person will also be assisting in the quality control of the processes for inspection and will need to help in the performance of the inspections in new construction. Responsibilities: Implement internal firestop policies/procedures and technical processes, including the review of Life Safety Drawings, specifications, firestopping submittals, UL systems, and special inspection reports. Maintain relationship and background knowledge of the current code and firestopping requirements with building officials, state officials, accreditation and auditing agencies and apply it to the business plan for this service area. Manage client and vendor relationships Prepares reports and other work related documents in a timely and accurate manner Understands and utilizes safe work practices Required Skills: Dependable and reliable with strong work ethic Ability to follow directions Attention to detail Exceptional safety and quality work awareness Computer Proficiency Problem solving skills Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Must have a valid driver`s license Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs Ability to travel to project sites and to the service areas of the company on a national level Required Education/Experience: High School diploma or equivalent Minimum two years' experience performing firestopping inspections Must have International Firestop Council Inspectors certificate, or FM or UL (DRI) test passed with an 80% or higher or be capable of passing one within 30 days. Knowledge and experience of the inspection and reporting process as defined by the IBC Familiarity with the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Experience with firestop systems and fire assembly ratings Familiar with reporting tools used in this industry Experience with construction joints firestopping, penetration firestopping, curtainwall firestopping, and UL assemblies Experience training and supervising technicians Preparing reports and other work related documents Project management Braun Intertec is a drug-free workplace and require all new hires to complete a pre-employment drug screen test, criminal background check, and motor vehicle report.
