Operations are funded by toll and concession revenues.\ \ Under the leadership of the Board of Directors and Executive Staff, the Tollway is committed to achieving the following goals: increase collaboration with regional transportation and planning agencies, promote the regional economy, maintain financial integrity, foster environmental responsibility and sustainability, maintain the safety and efficiency of the Tollway system, further transparency and accountability, enhance customer service, and maintain public trust.\ \ In support of this vision, the Risk Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operational activities within the Insurance Risk Management Department to ensure effective identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring of organizational risks. This role supports enterprise-wide risk management initiatives, ensures compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, and drives operational excellence across risk-related processes. This position will establish policy for the department and the agency. The position requires a strong background in insurance operations, workers compensation, risk analysis, data management, and stakeholder coordination.

Essential Job Functions

Risk Operations & Oversight

Lead the day-to-day operations of the Risk Management Department,

ensuring timely and accurate execution of all risk-related processes.

Manage the administration and maintenance of risk assessments, risk

registers, incident reports, and exposure tracking.

Monitor key operational risk indicators (KRIs) and trends,

escalating concerns to leadership as appropriate.

Oversee the documentation and tracking of claims, incidents, losses,

and insurance program activities.

Insurance Program Support\

Assist in the management of corporate insurance programs, including

policy renewals, certificates of insurance, underwriting submissions, workers compensation administration, and claims coordination.

Partner with brokers, insurers, and internal departments to gather

required exposure data and ensure policy accuracy.

Analyze insurance coverage needs and recommend adjustments based on

risk exposure, loss trends, and operational changes.

Risk Analysis & Reporting\

Develop, maintain, and present risk management reporting dashboards,

metrics, and executive summaries for leadership.

Use data analytics to identify emerging risks, inefficiencies, or

areas requiring additional controls.

Support annual enterprise risk assessments and other organizational

risk initiatives.

Compliance & Process Improvement\

Ensure departmental processes align with regulatory requirements,

industry standards, and company policy.

Develop and update operational policy, procedures, workflows, and

internal controls.

Lead or support audits, compliance reviews, and remediation plans.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency,

accuracy, and transparency in risk operations.

Stakeholder Collaboration\

Work cross-functionally with departments including Claims, Safety,

Legal, Finance, Underwriting, and Operations.

Serve as a subject matterexpert for risk operations and insurance

processes.

Provide training, guidance, and operational support to internal

teams regarding risk management practices.

Team Leadership(If Applicable)\

Oversee and mentor risk management staff, ensuring quality,

performance, and professional development.

Delegate responsibilities and manage workload distribution to

maintain operational excellence.
