Nammo Defense Systems, Inc., a defense contractor, is the primary USA operation of the Nammo Group (Nammo AS). Nammo Defense Systems Inc. (NDS) develops, manufactures, and supports Shoulder Launched Munitions (SLMs), energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aerospace structures.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Manufacturing Supervisor will oversee a team of mechanical assemblers at our inert assembly plant. This role is essential in ensuring that safety, scheduling, planning, training, personnel management, and financial objectives are met. The Supervisor will work closely with various departments to maintain the highest operational efficiency and safety standards. This position reports to Plant 1 Operations Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead and manage a team of technicians, ensuring efficient and compliant execution of daily tasks

Supervise the day-to-day operations of assigned department

Uphold a robust safety culture by enforcing PPE usage and promptly addressing safety concerns

Execute the plant master schedule effectively

Conduct daily stand-ups and assign tasks

Review each job for unique requirements, verify assignments, and determine personnel capacity, capability, and training

Ensure adherence to all rules and regulations and report unplanned events immediately to plant management and HESS as needed

Assess and mitigate schedule risks for each job, inform plant management as needed

Oversee comprehensive training programs, ensuring personnel competency and documentation

Provide learning and growth opportunities for operations personnel

Address interpersonal issues timely, involving HR and senior leadership as necessary

Discipline personnel appropriately for rule violations, using coaching, verbal and written warnings, and terminations as necessary

Manage tooling inventory, generate maintenance requests, and collaborate with engineering for operational support

Foster a continuous improvement culture by documenting and implementing improvement ideas.

Track and report production Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Enforce a culture of safety and efficiency. Embody the company's core values of Dedication, Precision, and Care.

Adhere to and follow standard safety procedures and protocols

COOPERATION

This position requires collaboration between internal teams and with external stakeholders.

LEVEL OF DECISION MAKING

This position entails making high-level autonomous daily decisions with and for those in the unit while providing guidance and technical expertise.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in a related field or ten-plus years of related experience

Proven experience in motivation and training of subordinates and developing skills

Ability to solve problems and provide input for performance reviews

Capacity to read and interpret procedures accurately and to provide related guidance to subordinates, as required

Ability to assist in the interview process for hiring new employees

Effectively present information to peers and respond to questions from others, including the management team and customers

Punctuality is a must! Ability to be at work on time and lead as an example to subordinates

The ability to support management through leadership of others and provide a positive example to peers.

Ability to obtain ATF clearance
