Manager Golf Course Operations

Serves as the initial contact point between Golf Course Management and clients, the public, and employees. Responsible for the Golf Course switchboard system. Takes all incoming calls. Assists and updates the Golf Course calendar of events to include meetings, appointments, tournaments, and group reservations. Keeps Golf Course Management apprised of daily activities to prevent potential problems. Responsible for and maintains Golf Course office equipment, such as copiers, facsimile machines, etc. Informs Golf Course Management when maintenance is needed. Provides assistance to the Golf Course Management in composing correspondence or memorandums for signature. Responsible for routing correspondence and other related paperwork as required by Golf Course Management. Responsible for ordering of all Golf Course supplies, purchasing, recording, checking deliveries for new inventory and pricing, replenishing sold inventory from the stock room, returning damaged merchandise for credit and preparing purchase orders for approval. Check purchase orders and report any shortages to manufacturer and accounting dept. Monitors accounts receivable, sends out billing statements, and contacts delinquent account holders. Monitors accounts payable and prepares necessary paperwork for payment. Coordinates and maintains hard copy and electronic filing systems. Ensures confidentiality of all documents and messages. Tee time management. Tournament and group reservations. Coordinate and supervise tournaments, group outings. Assist in merchandising, recording and checking deliveries of new inventory, pricing and displaying for sale. Participate in events scheduled at the Clubhouse. Assist in marketing and promotional programs. Assist in training pro-shop sales staff, rangers and starters, driving range and golf car attendants. Implements general policies established by the Board of Directors of Fond du Lac Management, Inc.; directs their administration and execution. Plans, develops and approves specific operational policies, programs, procedures and methods in concert with general policies. Work open and closing shifts according to schedules. End of day accounting and reporting procedures. Helps with the development of the Golf Course s long range and annual (business) plans. Develops, maintains and administers a sound organizational plan; initiates improvements as necessary. In cooperation with Fond du Lac Human Resources Department, establish a basic personnel policy; initiates and monitors policies relating to personnel actions and training and professional development programs. Maintains membership with the Club Managers Association of America and other professional associations. Attends conferences, workshops and meetings to keep abreast of current information and developments in the field of golf. Coordinates development of operating and capital budgets according to Fond du Lac Budget Ordinance. Coordinates and serves as ex-officio member of appropriate Golf Course committees. Welcomes and greets all Golf Course guests as practical during their visits to the course. Consistently assures that the Golf Course is operated in accordance with all applicable federal laws. Oversees the care and maintenance of all the Golf Course s physical assets and facilities. Coordinates the marketing programs of the Golf Course to promote the Golf Course s services and facilities to the golfing public. Ensures the highest standard of food, beverage, sports and recreation, entertainment and other Golf Course services. Establishes and monitors compliance with purchasing polices and procedures of the Fond du Lac Reservation. Reviews and initiates programs to provide guests with a variety of popular events. Analyzes financial statements, manages cash flow and establishes controls to safeguard funds. Reviews income and costs relative to goals; takes corrective action as necessary. Works with subordinate department heads to schedule, supervise and direct the work of allemployees. Develops and maintains clear-cut lines of authority and channels of communication. Participates in outside activities that are judged as appropriate and approved by the Board of Directors of Fond du Lac Management, Inc. to enhance the prestige of the Golf Course; broadens the scope of the Golf Course s operation by fulfilling the public obligations of the Golf Course as a participating member of the community. The season typically will be April through October. Displays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems. Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of all others, including visitors and co-workers. Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community. Required to maintain proper attendance including reporting to work on time in accordance with applicable policies. Maintains a clean and organized work area. Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.
