Role Overview
Intern- Technical Communication Product Marketing, SPG (MBA, Prior Semiconductor Experience preferred)
This internship role supports product marketing initiatives by translating complex technologies into clear customer value propositions for both emerging and core markets. The intern will develop an understanding of Applied Materials' product portfolio and contribute to compelling product messaging for customer engagements, internal stakeholders, and external conferences.
A relevant technical degree and strong communication and analytical skills are required. A background in Materials Science, Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, or related engineering disciplines, along with prior semiconductor industry experience, is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop compelling customer-focused presentation materials based on Applied's product portfolio and capabilities.
Work with product marketing, product management, and technologists to clearly communicate value proposition of Applied's products.
Update existing marketing collateral & content to have a uniform, consistent design and communication style
Work with internal and external stakeholders to create new visual content, i.e. renderings, videos, photography.
Leverage approved AI tools to support research, product requirement documents (PRDs), and performance metrics.
Qualifications/Skills:
Clear, concise, and compelling technical communication skills
Ability to translate technical features into differentiated customer value propositions
Strong analytical mindset with a willingness to learn, ask questions, and act decisively
Broad understanding of semiconductor process modules and system-level trade-offs
Familiarity with device physics, materials engineering, advanced packaging/interconnect technologies, and data analysis
Demonstrated leadership through academic projects, labs, extracurricular activities, or team-based work
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and build alignment across stakeholders
BS, MS, or PhD in Chemical, Materials, Mechanical, or Electrical/Electronics Engineering + Master's degree in Business or Communications

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
