Overview
The Commercial Product and Infrastructure (CPI) Finance organization is responsible for supporting Microsoft cloud and AI capacity planning, margin optimization, and disciplined resource allocation across Microsoft's portfolio. Within CPI, the Resource Investment Strategy finance team partners closely with engineering leaders to help ensure $20B+ in resources across approximately 100K engineering FTEs are aligned to strategic engineering priorities. We are seeking a Finance Manager to support Azure Core, Networking, and AI Infrastructure investments within Microsoft's Cloud + AI Engineering organization, working in close partnership with engineering leaders responsible for developing Microsoft's next generation of cloud infrastructure.
In this role, you will partner with stakeholders across engineering and finance to help ensure resource investments align with long-term strategy. You will support decision-making related to AI and cloud infrastructure by providing financial insights and analysis as engineering leaders evaluate cloud and AI priorities. This position requires an individual contributor who applies structured systems thinking, demonstrates curiosity, and effectively navigates ambiguity and complexity while supporting finance partnership and business outcomes.

Responsibilities
Business and Finance Partnership:
Partner with Engineering and Finance stakeholders to support operating leverage through resource allocation and investment optimization. Provide visibility into the current resource landscape by analyzing macro-level results and applying systems thinking to identify and recommend decision-making levers.
Business Health:
Support process excellence by partnering across Engineering and Finance to assess overall business health and understand key drivers. Identify opportunities, risks, and tradeoffs to help ensure resources and investments align with business strategy, product engineering roadmaps, and company priorities.
Resource Analysis:
Develop a cohesive narrative by incorporating business insights across resource allocation and workforce planning, including understanding the relationship between resource allocation and overall financial performance. Analyze results against plan and forecast, monitor trends, and evaluate key drivers to support rhythm of the business and finance activities.
Reporting and Communication:
Deliver resource reviews with Finance leaders, clearly communicating results, insights, and recommendations. Identify opportunities to automate and improve reporting processes using available tools.
Analytical Insight:
Apply analytical frameworks and established Finance best practices to identify trends and deliver insights that support efficient resource allocation and investment spend.

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field OR
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications
Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 3+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience OR
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 5+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience OR equivalent experience.
Experience with Zero-Based Budgeting (ZBB) concepts or practices is a plus, but not required.
Financial Analysis IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $76,800 - $151,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $100,800 - $168,000 per year.
