Responsibilities
As an APRN or PA in Perioperative Surgical with Ascension Seton, you will evaluate preoperative patients in a hospital-based outpatient clinic and uses evidence-based guidelines to optimize risk factors and health conditions. The goal of this service is to reduce perioperative complications and improve postoperative outcomes. You will collaborate with Perioperative Surgical Home interdisciplinary team members, coordinate with other specialties involved in each patient's care, and provide a continuum of care during the patient's perioperative journey. You will be based out of Seton Medical Center Austin and/or Dell Seton Medical Center UT. You will likely travel once a week to Seton Northwest, Seton Medical Center Williamson or Seton Medical Center Hays.
Responsibilities:
Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.
Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy

Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Texas Medical Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Certified Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Master's degree preferred.
Work Experience:
1 year of experience preferred.
