Summary The incumbent serves as serves as primary operator of high-speed DocuTech 6135 computerized copier/printer in Logistics Services of the South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS), San Antonio, Texas. The incumbent is responsible for providing professional reproduction services to staff of the STVHCS. The Organizational Location of this Position is: Logistics Service, Reproduction & Printing department, VA South Texas Health Care System, San Antonio, TX. Responsibilities Duties may include but are not limited to: Assist computer in submission and corrections of reproduction requests submitted thru computer network to DocuTech 6135; Maintains DocuTech 6135 system reports and local databases files pertaining to reproduction, number of copies, scheduled times, and turnaround times; Monitor Docutech 6135 system to assure timely turn-around times with reproduction requests; Perform on site trouble shooting to DocuTech 6135 computer problems and coordinates necessary corrective action with Xerox computer technical experts; Monitor office automation reproduction request and prioritize jobs; Serve as expert reference for users on automated reproduction requests; Maintains accurate and up to date production logs of all reproduction work order requests; Anticipates requirements for supplies, based on past and projected usage; On a needed basis, incumbent operates postal metering, weighing and manifesting equipment in the mailroom; Other duties as assigned. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of general experience in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of general experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Knowledge of data processing fundamentals and Microsoft Exchange/Outlook; knowledge of personal computers and operating systems; knowledge of reproduction and duplicating principles; skill in the initial set up, adjustment, and operation of high speed single and dual head offset presses, electrostatic copy machines, electro/mechanical collator, paper cutter, hole punch, jogger, stapler equipment; knowledge of computer and reproduction equipment; ability to communicate orally and in writing; and ability to deal effectively with both technical and non-technical people during periods of stress. Physical Requirements: The work is generally in the office setting requiring stooping and standing, but will also involve more active duties associated with onsite troubleshooting and malfunctions of equipment. Handling boxes of paper and moving cases of paper is required on a daily basis. Work requires prolonged periods of standing while monitoring equipment operations, sorting or processing mail. Mail delivery within the Medical Center requires prolonged walking. Incumbent will be required to lift paper boxes, chemical products or mailbags weighing from 50-60 pounds on a regular basis.
