Position Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the growing Accounting team at Oak Street Health! The Accounting Manager role combines technical accounting expertise with a strategic focus on operational improvement. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated and curious individual that possesses strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles, has a continuous improvement mindset focused on efficiency and accuracy, and a proven ability to respond quickly in a changing environment. This role requires strong oral and written communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the desire to innovate and improve. This position, in part, will support the monthly close process and preparation of financial reports as well as other day-to-day accounting related activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
Support month-end close by reviewing journal entries and supporting documents, and providing internal reporting and analysis to management
Assist in quarterly and year-end reporting to Oak Street Health and CVS management
Review account reconciliations and other analyses to ensure complete and accurate accounting
Support Sarbanes-Oxley section 404 compliance on internal controls over financial reporting for key processes
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities
Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives, such as responding to inquiries from FP&A and providing requested documents to tax professionals and auditors
Perform other ad hoc accounting duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
5+ years of progressive accounting experience with:
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software (WorkDay Finance and SAP S4, preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
CPA certification.
Previous experience as a people manager.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
strongly preferred.
Public Accounting or Public Company (SOX 404) experience a plus.
Experience in the value-based care or SaaS industry a plus.
Education
Bachelors degree required or equivalent years of related experience.

The typical pay range for this role is:
$60,300.00 - $145,860.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
