\ \ Johnson County Community College\ Position: Adjunct Assistant Professor, ESL/EAP\ \ Department: Academic Affairs\ \ Type of Position: Adjunct Faculty\ \ Exemption Status: Exempt\ \ Work Schedule, Hours per week: Varies depending on department needs.\ \ Opportunity for hybrid schedule: No\ \ Starting Salary Range: AJCR \$1,208-\$1,344 per credit hour and in accordance with the adjunct table and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume.\ \ \ \ Position Summary:\ \ Instruct students, part-time, in up to three, multilevel EAP three-credit hour courses: Speaking/Listening, Writing/Grammar, and/or Reading/Vocabulary.\ \ Required Qualifications:

Master\'s degree in English, TESOL, Linguistics, Education or a

closely-related discipline with a minimum of 18-credit graduate hours in TESL.

\ Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching adults English as a Second Language and/or

English for Academic Purposes in a classroom setting.

Prior teaching experience in a higher education academic setting,

including but not limited to, the community college level.

Demonstrated understanding of a commitment to the mission of a

comprehensive community college.

Working knowledge of a learning management system teaching platform

(Canvas preferred).

Demonstrated teaching in various online formats, including but not

limited to, synchronous and asynchronous delivery methods.
