Position Description:
CLP Engineering (CLPE) is seeking an Electrical Tester (Testing Technician I) to join our Testing Team to perform mid/entry level inspections, testing, and maintaining electrical power equipment; Seeking a candidate with 2-4 years of experience who is available for up to 75% travel. Due to the nature of our work as a Federal Contractor, candidates must be a US Citizen.
The Electrical Tester will work with electrical equipment, such as SF6 & vacuum circuit breakers, pad mount transformers/GSU transformers, grounding, instrument transformers, and variance of switches both manual and motor operated.
Colorado-based is preferred, however the Electrical Tester position can be located at other CLP Engineering locations, or remote in a state where CLP Engineering is registered
Key Responsibilities:
Perform mid/entry level testing of High, Medium, and Low voltage electrical power equipment under supervision.
Testing on apparatus includes breakers, transformers, CT's, PT's, cables, and grounding.
Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean equipment and components in a substation.
Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and Engineering Personnel in order to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and determine optimum equipment functioning.
Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed.
Knowledge and understanding of practical application of electrical theory and hazards in order to perform the job requirements successfully and safely.

Skills | Knowledge | Experience:
Associate or Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology or related field, or previous military experience preferred.
Two to four (2-4) years of relevant testing experience with:
Prescence of Voltage Verification
Contact Resistance
Insulation Resistance
Test Equipment Set Up
One-line Drawings
Available to work overtime hours and travel to the field for extended time periods.
Able to work well both independently and as a contributing team member.

Hourly payrate range: $30.00-$42.75 based on experience, plus eligible to participate in Short Term Incentive Plan.
