About This Position:
In an effort to increase the number of licensed and credentialed providers and encourage provider retention, this new position in the BHA WFD division provides behavioral and mental health career field pathway navigation service through the entire lifecycle of the career path from contemplation through retirement. They foster collaborative connections with providers and students. They support all providers by offering resources, providing opportunities for upskilling, training, networking, and leading collaborative cross-agency efforts. They work closely with the BHA WFD Licensure and Certification Program Coordinator to assist providers with navigating the DORA process and to address questions regarding additional licenses and credentials. They provide information about Continuing Education Units and work closely with external partners to coordinate efforts to meet the upskilling needs of state providers. They work with the BHA Tribal Affairs Specialist and the BHA Agricultural/Rural Administrator to receive necessary information to administer the BHA WFD Learning Academy and deliver training via the requested modalities. This position represents BHA WFD at external meetings and events with provider communities. They collaborate with institutes of higher education, public school partners, and attend events to discuss the BH/MH WFD pathway. In order to support the needs of our rural and Tribal communities, this position may travel throughout Colorado up to 25% of the time.

Collaborative Connections
This position fosters collaborative connections with providers and students from underrepresented urban, tribal, rural, and Spanish-speaking communities that are not part of the Colorado Behavioral Health Administration Services Organizations (BHASOs) Behavioral Health Entities (BHE) network. They work closely with the BHA Communications team to update the WFD website.
Provider Retention Support
The Behavioral Health Workforce Development Pathway Administrator focuses on provider retention by working with the Education and Training Administrator to develop a statewide training calendar, deliver webinars, and provide technical support for in-person and virtual training opportunities. Host wellbeing activities to reduce provider burnout, vicarious traumatization, and compassion fatigue syndrome. Reduce systemic barriers for external providers, BHA internal providers, and students.
Provider Recruitment Support
This position maintains thorough knowledge of mental health/behavioral health field pathways. Collaborates with partners at institutes of higher education as well as partners within public schools serving 8th-12th graders. Attends events to discuss and encourage the behavioral health/mental health WFD pathway. This position develops student-facing monthly newsletters/blogs to promote engagement within the field. They work closely with the LMS Content Manager to develop Provider Retention and Recruitment reporting to live on the BHA WFD dashboard. Attends job fairs to discuss workforce development opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience Only:Six (6) years of professional, relevant experience in behavioral health, mental health, workforce development, career counseling, or a closely related field.
Education and Experience:A combination of related education (from an accredited college or university) and/or relevant experience equal to six (6) years.
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of theDORA (Department of Regulatory Agencies) licensing process and credentialing requirements for behavioral health providers in Colorado.
Demonstrated experience working with and supporting underrepresented urban, Tribal, rural, and Spanish-speaking communities.
Experience designing or hosting activities focused on reducing provider burnout, vicarious traumatization, and compassion fatigue.
Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and using data to create recruitment/retention reports or dashboards.
Experience working within or alongside state agencies (such as the BHA) to navigate complex systemic barriers and implement regional training initiatives.

CDHS Selection Process Explanation
Employment history is calculated on a full-time basis (40/hours per week). Part-time employment is calculated on a prorated basis to determine qualifications.
