What's in it for you:

The Accounting Manager supports the Plant Controller by overseeing core accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls. This role includes general ledger management, cost accounting, Puerto Rico statutory and tax compliance, financial analysis, and audit coordination.

Where is the work: This position will be located in Arecibo, Puerto Rico.

What you will do:

Oversee daily general accounting activities and ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate results Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses Manage and oversee cost accounting activities, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis Partner with Operations and Supply Chain teams to analyze manufacturing costs, production variances, inventory trends, and cost-saving (productivity) opportunities Support the Controller with financial statements, management reporting, and performance analysis Maintain and strengthen internal controls, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements Manage and ensure compliance with Puerto Rico statutory accounting and tax reporting requirements, including local tax filings and regulatory submissions Collaborate with external tax advisors and auditors on Puerto Rico tax and statutory matters Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and reconciliations Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting quality and operational efficiency Participate in system improvements, data integrity initiatives, and finance-related projects Supervise accounting staff involved in general ledger, fixed assets, cost accounting, and inventory accounting Performs other duties and projects assigned. Maintain the work area clean and organized. Support lean initiatives (5s, RIE's, SQDIP, MDI, 9 step). Comply and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including EHS and ISO requirements.

What you will bring:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

· CPA, CMA, or Master's degree preferred

· 5+ years of progressive experience, including supervisory responsibilities

· Experience in cost accounting and inventory management

· Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control frameworks

· Experience with Puerto Rico statutory requirements and local tax compliance

· Proficiency with ERP systems and strong Excel skills

· Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

· Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities

· Fully bilingual (English and Spanish)
