As a Director of Finance Control, you will serve as a trusted business partner to senior Line Management, driving financial excellence and shaping the growth trajectory of our U.S. Contract Logistics operations.

The role acts as a proactive advisor to management, contributing financial insights and strategic recommendations that support profitable growth, operational efficiency, and competitive advantage.Partner cross-functionally with business and functional units to support productivity improvements, process optimization, and strategic initiatives. The right candidate will have a continuous improvement mindset and a tendency towards 5S in the workplace.
How you create impact
Act as a strategic business partner for management
Partners with business and functional units to drive profitability, growth, productivity, process improvement, and assistance with special projects. Directly manage a team of US Controllers while keeping a regular communication channel with Corporate Controlling.
Reporting: Ensure timely, accurate, and efficient month closing process, manage annual Target and quarterly rolling forecast process.
Investment Management: Review and discuss investment applications, new business ventures with management, validate cost savings initiatives, and present business cases for approvals following the Catalogue of Competence (CoC).
Pricing: Represent Finance/Controlling on all new business opportunities/RFP's, supporting the Customer Development and Design & Launch teams from the Go / No Go reviews, through Ops and Leadership review sessions, Implementation and after go-live, ensuring cost data is accurate, assumptions are reasonable and robust and company accounting practices are adhered to, with variance analysis undertaken
Risk Management: Anticipate events with financial exposure for KN, conduct contract reviews, and participate in customer pricing; discuss (with senior management) and agree on mitigation strategies for any potential risk areas.
Profitability Management: Proactively monitor business performance, apply strong analytical rigor in the review of P&L's, Gap analysis to Rolling Forecast and Target with Management, through initiation of business reviews develop and drive cost control measures, as well as support major procurement projects.
Standardization and process improvement: Drive standardization and alignment amongst Contract Logistics Controlling, enabling, and facilitating continuous improvement, new tools, and employee development.
Governance: Direct line reporting into the US Controlling Organization for all local financial analysts and support staff; to ensure full compliance with all KN financial controlling guidelines and company policies
What we would like you to bring
Bachelor's degree in finance or equivalent work experience- Master's Degree preferred
7-10 years' working experience of which at least 5 years in Finance and Controlling functions, preferably with FP&A experience
5 years of working experience in leading/managing people
Experience in communicating at senior management level (National and Corporate functions)
Operational and business "know-how" in Contract Logistics required
Strong leadership skills
Strong personal drive and ability to think in diverse ways about a single challenge
Controlling and Finance background
Organized, meticulous, hands-on, and a team player
Structured strategic thinker, able to convert complex analysis into actionable insight
Ability to work in the details and summarize/present overview to Senior Mgmt
High level of competence in Excel including pivot tables
Analytical mindset, high level of commercial acumen - Initiative-taker
Ability to follow through from beginning to end
Ability to lead and develop employees

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
