GENERAL FUNCTION:
Leads in the analysis of data activities and engagement across the assigned organization in support of strategic objectives, in collaboration with leadership. Responsible for developing reporting, analytics, metrics and key performance indicators while also providing in-depth analysis and recommendations for improving/enhancing line of business performance. Serves as a strategic thought-leader; bridging the gap between business processes and data analytics solutions.
Principal level must have the ability to identify data sources; manage large amounts of data; merge data sources; ensure consistency of datasets; create visualizations to aid in understanding data; build mathematical models using the data; be a champion for a data insights culture; and present and communicate the actionable findings to a wide audience including technical and non-technical business partners.
Plays a crucial role in providing valuable, innovative, data-driven insights and recommendations to optimize business performance, drive strategic initiatives, and solve complex business problems. Works with diverse data sets, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and makes a significant impact on our organization's success. Directs engagements with minimal supervisory oversight.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish strong partnering relationships with each line of business and functional leaders and develop strategic grasp of their businesses and objectives; act as both thought leader and champion for Analytics team, and more specifically on how insights can drive substantial improvements in business performance.
Utilizes deep business knowledge as a subject matter expert to support data analytics product development- including understanding the financial needs of businesses and the complete sales lifecycle through servicing and relationship management.
Seamlessly lead and prioritize complex analytic engagement deliverables with varying deadlines.
Strong in understanding analytic opportunities and scoping and delivering work across multiple departments.
Evaluate and improve design of reports and processes to ensure that analytical tools evolve as the business changes.
Develop and implement robust data stratifications and analytics dashboards that will incorporate inventory control frameworks with procedures to ensure data integrity and to track loan facility performance metrics..
Maintain updated and accurate records of virtual loan assets, including daily funding, settlement and transfer activities.
Perform monthly data reconciliation between internal files, monthly servicer reports, and transfer records to ensure consistency and compliance with respect to borrowing base related covenants.
Monitor and analyze monthly servicer reports and asset level data with focus on loan amortization schedules, payments, and asset level data integrity.
Conduct review and analysis on funding operations, identify data discrepancies, improve operational efficiencies, and implement solutions to mitigate business risk.
Communicate with the ABF deal teams and internal stakeholders, provide insights on payment transfer and loan request patterns, and identify data integrity related issues.
Manage and update inventory management systems, relational databases, ensuring scalability and robust surveillance capabilities.
Provide surveillance and health statistic reporting on the loans across these asset portfolios and develop advanced spreadsheets (complex formulas, macros) and programming scripts for dynamic reporting.
Maintain asset-specific data management frameworks aligned with each asset class and transaction level requirements.
Provide feedback to the deal team during deal origination and negotiations with respect to asset level data requirements that will enhance monthly tracking, covenant review, and operational efficiencies.
Will be requested to communicate and coordinate and align/partner with 5/3 Commercial Data Products & Analytics team to ensure consistency, best practices, data architecture, and support capabilities in place.
Responsible for manipulating large data files and transforming the data into business information that helps fulfill strategic objectives.
Develop, implement, and maintain reports, dashboards, metrics, KPIs, and data visualizations to support business needs and facilitate data-driven decision-making
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Operations Research, Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Business Administration, or related quantitative fields/similar discipline/background
5+ years of experience in Asset-Backed Finance, Securitization, Asset Portfolio Management, or Collateral Analytics in one or more of the following asset classes, including auto loans, credit cards, timeshare, and consumer loans
Proficiencies in data analysis, tools, and languages such as: Excel (VBA), Microsoft Power BI, SQL, R, SAS, Snowflake, loan servicing platforms, inventory management software and databases; AWS SageMaker, Dataiku, or python experience a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify data discrepancies and data integrity issues; can write complex SQL queries against a variety of data sources and perform advanced data discovery
Experience performing advanced data discovery techniques such as exploring system tables and identifying necessary data
Exceptional organization and documentation capabilities for managing multi-asset datasets and ability to effectively communicate and present technical results and their business impact
Effective communication skills to collaborate across various deal teams and internal partners
