Summary You will serve as a Detective in the Force Protection Division of WEPSTA SEAL BCH SECURITY DET. Responsibilities You will complete forms for documentation of events (e.g., issuing citations, interviewing witnesses). You will interpret law enforcement regulations to determine how they apply to a criminal act. You will conduct investigations through record checks, interviews, surveillance, or other methods to ascertain any criminal activity. You will understand law enforcement instructions to protect the constitutional rights of suspects, witnesses, and victims. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Conducting investigations into alleged or suspected violations of criminal laws and military regulations; 2) Planning and carrying out investigations requiring surveillance operations; 3) Responding to crime scenes to collect and preserve evidence; 4) Detaining and/or apprehending suspects; and 5) Preparing case records to include investigation findings and recommendations. NOTE: All experience must be fully demonstrated in your resume to be considered for the position. Completion of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Uniformed Police Training Program is a condition of continued employment. Employee will be required to sign a continuing service agreement prior to travel to the academy. Agreement to Continue in Service - CSA, Agency requires 36 month of continued employment after the completion of required training from the FLETC in accordance with Title 5 USC 4108 and 5 CFR410.309. Failure to voluntary complete length of employment requirement can subject employee to reimburse to the agency for fees, such as tuition and related fees, travel, and other special expenses (excluding salary) paid in connection with the training. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Incumbent is subject to 24-hour recall while performing duties as the Duty Detective and will maintain a 24-hour recall notification number. Must carry their government issued cell phone at all times. Military Spouse Preference applicants will be placed at the highest grade for which they have applied and are determined Best Qualified (BQ). A BQ military spouse possesses knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies comparable to others who meet the competitive referral criteria for the specific position. PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized. Recruitment incentives may be authorized to eligible new hires. Permanent Change of Station (PCS) is not authorized. May be subject to being interrupted from meals or other work breaks while on duty.
