Summary:
The Plant Manager will be responsible for the overall performance, profitability (P&L), and growth of the Commercial Fabrication plant. This role requires a strong leader who can run a high-quality, efficient modern manufacturing plant and who relates well to the technical demands of the products manufactured. The position also involves proactively managing material flow and inventory. The Plant Manager will support organizational objectives in customer satisfaction, inventory control, and cost improvements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Leadership and P&L Management
Own the Profit & Loss (P&L), including managing budgets, controlling costs, and driving revenue growth.
Build, lead, and motivate a disciplined team that delivers results in safety, operational execution, quality, andcost.
Foster environment that promotes cross-functional teamwork and employee growth and development. Maintainpositive employee relations by solving issues related to the work environment.
Manage plant personnel matters, including determining work procedures, preparing work schedules, andmanaging workflow to meet production demands.
Collaborate and correspond with internal customers in the sales group to answer questions and resolvecustomer service matters.
Engage in leadership and culture building through presence on the production floor.Manufacturing Operations and Performance
Oversee all production and operational activities to meet daily, weekly, and quarterly output, schedule, and costobjectives.
Drive continuous improvement in cost, focusing on manufacturability, cost reduction, and product quality.
Implement and champion Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, 5S, TPM) andcontinuous quality improvement methodologies to maximize efficiency and capacity utilization.
Monitor production scheduling to ensure orders are completed on time and complete managing againstvariances in operations.
Planning, Budgeting, Operational Support and Compliance
Jointly develop the annual fabrication operations budget with assistance from Engineering and Finance teams.
Support capital planning and execution based on engineering and operational planning.
Analyze plant performance against the cost basis plan, order entry forward load, backlog, and capacity control.
Make necessary changes to plant operations to meet target goals or adapt to changes in the sales budget dueto variability in sales order entry and economic conditions.
Enforce Safety and Quality culture, ensuring strict adherence to company culture as well as policies andstandards.
Manage purchasing execution of hardware and materials to ensure timely delivery and optimized cost forproduction as well as inventory of aluminum profiles.
Participates as required and supports new product initiatives from Marketing and PD. Also executesrationalization projects for existing product lines that might be deemed obsolete based on Marketing analysis.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages 2 or more employees in the department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education/Experience/Skills:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in engineering (Mechanical or Industrial), preferred.
Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive senior leadership experience in a heavy industrial, high-mixmanufacturing environment.
5+ years leading a large and diverse manufacturing workforces (200-500)
Experience with metal fabrication of anodized, painted and mill finished aluminum extrusion and variousprofiles, required.
Experience integrating automation into plant operations to drive cost improvement and operationalefficiencies.
Industry light to heavy manufacturing (preferred), fabrication (paint and metal, fabrication finishing) wouldbe preferred
Strong analytical processing and presentation skills.
Self-starter and collaborator with ability to effectively engage business stakeholders directly across alllevels of the organization.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
Strong project management, organizational and time management skills.
Proficient within system platforms of Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office, etc.

The travel required for this position is less than 10%.

An individual is required to wear appropriate safety protective equipment at the proper times and in the proper environments as required by safety program rules. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, an individual is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
