About the Role

We are seeking a confident, reliable Medical Biller & Coder with strong charge-entry skills to join our close-knit billing team. In this role, you will handle the full cycle of billing and coding responsibilities, from charge entry and claims submission to denial management and patient communication. You'll play a key part in ensuring accurate billing operations and maintaining strong relationships with insurance providers and patients.

We are looking for someone who brings both technical billing expertise and the confidence to advocate for proper claim reimbursement.

Responsibilities

Perform all medical billing and coding basics for a retina specialty practice.

Complete charge entry, payment posting, and submission of insurance claims.

Track claims and handle all aspects of insurance billing, including processing payments and resolving discrepancies.

Fight denials and confidently communicate with insurance companies to ensure proper reimbursement.

Communicate with patients regarding outstanding balances and collect payments as needed.

Maintain accurate billing records and documentation in Nextech (required experience strongly preferred).

Support general billing operations and collaborate with a team of two billers.

Qualifications

Required:

2+ years of medical billing experience

Billing and coding proficiency

Strong experience with charge entry and payment posting

Confidence in handling difficult insurance follow-up and denial resolution

High reliability, honesty, and attention to detail

Nextech software experience (used in Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Med Spas, Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery)

Coding experience beyond basic billing tasks

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
