Koniag IT Systems, LLC a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an experienced A/V Installer with a Secret Clearance to support our Army customer in Huntsville, Alabama. This on-site role will focus on the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of audio-visual systems throughout HQ Army Materiel Command (AMC) facilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with A/V equipment installation and a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices. This is a non-recurring requirement to support new equipment installations.
The A/V Installer will be responsible for installing and configuring audio-visual systems in various environments including conference rooms, offices, and operations centers. Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Install and configure a wide range of A/V equipment including monitors, displays, microphones, speakers, and sound systems
Plan and execute cable runs through walls, ceilings, and floors while maintaining proper separation and avoiding interference
Terminate various cable @types including Cat5/6, HDMI, audio cables, and fiber optic cables
Follow manufacturer instructions and adhere to industry standards during all installation activities
Conduct comprehensive system testing and commissioning to ensure optimal performance
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with A/V equipment and systems
Document all installations with detailed System Acceptance Testing (SAT) reports
Coordinate with facility management and IT staff to ensure proper integration of A/V systems with existing infrastructure
Adhere to all security protocols and requirements when working in government facilities
Maintain inventory of installation materials and equipment
Provide basic training to end-users on newly installed A/V systems
Ensure all work meets quality standards and customer expectations
Follow safety protocols and procedures during all installation activities
Education and Experience:
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate's degree preferred
2+ years of hands-on experience installing and configuring A/V systems
Experience with various @types of A/V equipment including displays, sound systems, and control interfaces
Demonstrated ability to terminate and test various cable @types
Experience with system testing and documentation
Secret Clearance
Required Skills and Competencies:
Hands-on experience installing and configuring commercial-grade A/V equipment
Knowledge of different cable @types and proper installation techniques
Proficiency in cable termination (Cat5/6, HDMI, audio, fiber optic)
Understanding of A/V control systems and configuration
Experience with network switches in A/V environments
Ability to read and follow technical diagrams and manufacturer documentation
Experience conducting system testing and commissioning
Knowledge of proper cable management techniques
Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various positions (standing, kneeling, reaching)
Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to document work clearly and completely
Understanding of electrical safety practices
Knowledge of industry standards for A/V installations
Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances
Willingness to work on-site in Huntsville, Alabama
Desired Skills and Competencies:
InfoComm/AVIXA certifications (CTS, CTS-I)
Experience working in government or military facilities
Familiarity with secure installation requirements
Experience with Crestron, Extron, AMX, or similar control systems
Knowledge of video conferencing system installation
Experience with digital signage implementation
Understanding of acoustics and room treatment considerations
Experience with projection systems and screen installations
Knowledge of HDCP compliance and content protection systems
Familiarity with IP-based A/V systems and networks
Experience with audio DSP configuration
Knowledge of ADA compliance requirements for A/V systems
Experience with large-scale operations center installations
Ability to work flexible hours as needed for installations
