The Senior Director - Counsel - Litigation and Government Investigations role is for a creative and strategic litigation attorney with impeccable judgment who will be a member of the legal team responsible for non-IP litigation matters and government investigations. Responsibilities
Develop strategy for, manage, and advise senior leadership and the business on litigation, investigations, pre-litigation disputes, and other high-risk matters in the United States and elsewhere
Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to provide practical and thoughtful legal counseling on a variety of business initiatives, emerging risk issues, and risk assessments
Actively engage with and manage outside counsel, including by assembling virtual law firms, developing and managing to reasonable budgets, and aligning litigation strategies with business priorities
Build and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders
Engage with key external parties and entities, including government agencies, industry groups, and outside counsel networks
Review, analyze and keep current on litigation developments affecting the pharmaceutical industry?
Basic Qualifications
J.D. degree
Active license to practice law in the United States
Minimum 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney working on complex litigation, including MDLs, class actions, complex arbitrations, or similar legal matters

Additional Skills/Preferences
Highly motivated and collaborative partner with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with and influence others
7+ years of experience as a practicing attorney working on complex litigation, including MDLs, class actions, complex arbitrations, or similar legal matters
Experience managing litigation at or for a pharmaceutical company
Experience taking depositions and preparing company witnesses
Experience with matters involving state and federal healthcare programs (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, 340B), fraud and abuse laws (e.g., AKS, False Claims Act), consumer protection, privacy, antitrust, securities, product liability, or complex commercial claims
Experience advising on risk management issues
Experience with government litigation, investigations, or agencies
Experience with crisis management
Demonstrated ability to appropriately handle highly confidential information
Demonstrated commitment to expand knowledge and continuously adapt to a changing risk landscape
Comfortable operating with a sense of urgency, with ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment
Strong strategic thinker

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$154,500 - $226,600
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
