This temporary position provides quality and timely human resource management assistance, service, and advice to MDH managers, supervisors, and employees who support MDH's mission of protecting, maintaining, and improving the health of all Minnesotans. The position performs advanced technical and administrative support services for the Human Resources Management team.

Working in the position of Administrative Services Support, you will:

Act as the Leave Management Coordinator, processing leave of absence requests related to FMLA, paid parental leave, MN Paid Leave, statutory leaves, and all other contract-approved leave requests from the agency employees with accountability for providing timely documents, communication and information to employees, supervisors, and benefits/payroll staff, and entering timely leave transactions in accordance with state/federal lay, state policy and contracts/plans.

Review, approve, and enter personnel transactions so that they are processed according to appropriate statute, labor agreement/plan, salary plan and administrative procedures.

Provide Human Resources Management (HRM) administrative and support services.

The Telework Policy (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework.pdf) exempts employees who live more than 50 miles from their primary work location from the 50% in-office requirement to help the State of Minnesota benefit from top talent in every corner of the state.

Minimum Qualifications

To facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.

Six months of direct experience in an HR Technician or higher role OR One (1) year of related experience, Examples may include: Customer service or administration experience that includes data entry tasks.

This experience must include the ability to perform mathematical calculations sufficient to correctly determine salaries, backpay, special payments or seniority dates.

A related degree may substitute for experience as follows:

Bachelor's =12 months

Associate's = 6 months

Ability to interact and communicate with a diverse group of people.

Ability to demonstrate a high level of professionalism, confidentiality and sensitivity.

Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships

Ability to exercise sound judgement and consistent decision-making practices.

Strong attention to detail while also managing a high volume of requests.

Preferred Qualifications

Skills in SEMA 4 (PeopleSoft), Recruiting Solutions and OBIEE functions.

Knowledge of state personnel practices, policies and procedures or have performed work related to auditing personnel transactions and /or files.

Previous experience related to leave of absence coordination.
