Summary The incumbent serves as a Medical Management Specialist for the ACOS/Extended Care providing logistical and administrative support in the management of Extended Care Service clinical and academic programs. Incumbent works at two-divisional teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Kentucky (UK) Medical Center at the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Medical Center, Lexington, Kentucky. Responsibilities Duties include, but may not be limited to the following: Interprets administrative policies, develop and implement local policies, and define administrative requirements. Administrates oversight to Extended Care staff and leadership. Hears and resolves complaints. Coordinates and monitors functions of the administrative services. Identifies and defining both long and short term planning and keeps the ACOS advised of internal and external expectations and assists in development of strategies for compliance. Coordinates with Human Resources for recruitment of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and office personnel. Facilitates credentialing of providers, works with Chief of Staff office and medical staff coordinators to ensure licensure and privileges are current. Coordinates with Human Resources for the interview process for the service. Communicates with staff and approval of leave requests, time card certification. Develops and maintain organizational and functional charts. Investigate, discuss and respond to employee grievances and dissatisfactions in order to resolve conflicts. Develops processes and procedures to streamline administrative activities, Gathers, assembles, analyzes data, develops conclusions, and devises solutions for complex functions and work processes. Serves and performance measure data mining expert and monitors performance activities, compiles reports, and provides feedback to staff. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond graduate level education (in excess of the first two years or 36 semester hours) and specialized experience to meet total experience requirements. Physical Requirements: This position requires the incumbent to have the ability to commute to work daily, be physically able to ride long distances while traveling to all Lexington VA Healthcare System facilities, and the ability to be in a seated position at a workstation for long periods of time.
